Heat Transfer Enhancement by Perforated and Louvred Fin Heat Exchangers

Multi-tube multi-fin heat exchangers are extensively used in various industries. In the current work, detailed experimental investigations were carried out to establish flow/heat transfer characteristics three distinct exchanger geometries. A novel perforated plain fin design was developed, and its performance evaluated against standard louvred fins designs. Experimental setups designed, tests carefully which enabled quantification of pressure drop characteristics. experiments average velocity air varied range 0.7 m/s 4 corresponding Reynolds numbers 600 2650. The water side flow rates tubes kept at 0.12, 0.18, 0.24, 0.3, 0.36 m3/h between 6000 30,000. It found that produced highest rate due availability higher surface area, but it also drops.
